Free Pattern Friday: Be Mine

Hello readers!  It's Friday, which means it's time once again for me to share a free cross stitch pattern with you.

But first, you may be wondering where I've disappeared off to for the past couple weeks?  Although I managed to keep up with my Crazy January stitching through January 24th, it was getting harder and harder due to a flare up in some carpal tunnel like symptoms in my hands.  So finally on January 25th I decided I needed to take a break and slow the stitching way down rather than risk damaging something so I would need more invasive medical attention.

I'm still planning on doing starts for Days 25-31, they're just going to have to wait a little longer.  Maybe I might be able to pull some out for this weekend.  I know I need to catch up in my reporting of what I did get done before I had to take a break, but sadly, typing imitates the movements that make it hard to stitch, so I've had to cut back on the blogging as well.

Anyway, in the meantime, I can take a quick bit to share a new free cross stitch pattern with you.  We all know Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and although I'm not a big fan of that holiday, I do love kittys, so I found this adorable kitty couple pattern that I can manage to stomach for Valentine's Day.

This pattern comes to you courtesy of Alita Designs, who did one of the snowman patterns I showed a few weeks back.  It's the perfect size for a card or small token that you can easily whip up between now and the big day.  You can download this free cross stitch pattern directly from the designer's website.

Happy stitching!

Free Pattern Friday: Without A Cat

So welcome to the first free cross stitch pattern Friday in March.

As I think I've mentioned a few times already on this blog, I really like the month of March,  mostly because it's my birthday month (one week and counting, yeah!).  So I thought it would be fun to feature a "favorite" of mine for today's pattern.  Well, I love cats, and looking back through my featured patterns so far, I can't believe I haven't shared a cat pattern.  Well, this must be rectified immediately.

Today's pattern is designed by Jan Eaton for Tom Pudding Designs.  It was originally sold as a kit, which is no longer available, but the pattern is offered by the publisher as a free download instead.  It's a fairly simple pattern, although it does feature beading and a few blended stitches, which will either be a challenge, or a nice change depending on your stitching level.

Head over to Tom Pudding Designs' website to download the PDF of this free cross stitch pattern.   I guess this means I need to do a pattern for all you dog people out there now, don't I?  :)

Happy stitching!

Free Pattern Friday: Happy Winter

Well, we're continuing with the non-English language blog theme for today's free cross stitch pattern.  But it was just too cute to not share.

Today's pattern comes from a blog called Crocette Stregate, which I think is written in Italian?  If you scroll all the way to the bottom of this post, you'll find this adorable pattern of a cat dressed up in winter woolens, with the words "Happy Winter" at the bottom.  Which although the blog is in another language, the pattern is in English?  *shrug*  Whatever, it's super cute, so it's all worth it.  :)

This pattern is in picture format, and it has both symbols and a color guide contained in the picture itself, but it's a little small.  I found that clicking on the picture to enlarge it and then saving still made it a little small to see the individual symbols and key.  I solved this by doing it this way (in Firefox browser): Right click on the picture and choose "Open link in new tab" from the drop down menu that appears.  In the new tab, click on the picture once when the magnifying glass with the "+" in the middle appears to enlarge the picture.  Then save it to your computer.  That should make it big enough to see all the details of the pattern.

You can find the chart picture for this free cross stitch pattern on the blog, all the way at the bottom of this post.

Happy stitching!

Free Pattern Friday: Best Witches

Here's to the first Friday of October!  Let's celebrate with another Halloween free cross stitch pattern.

Today's pick comes from the wonderful designer Barbara Ana.  Continuing with the witch theme from last week, this design is called "Best Witches", which is perfert for me, since as an English major, I love puns.  :)  Barbara also has some other super cute Halloween designs available for purchase from your favorite needlework shops, so definitely check those out if you like this design.  One of them, Ice Scream, is currently on my 123stitch wish list.  I so want to get to that someday...

But in the meantime, if you're budget is limited like mine at the moment, you can head over to Cyberstitchers to download this free cross stitch pattern in PDF or two other formats.

Happy stitching!

Free Pattern Friday: Witches Hat

It's Friday, so it's time for another free cross stitch pattern.  We're going to continue with the Halloween theme for awhile, so let's get to today's pick.

I tend to like cutesy rather than scary Halloween patterns.  For me, Halloween is a purely secular holiday, and I don't mind talking about things like witches, ghosts, and vampires because it's all in pure fun for me.  So today's pattern features this cute little black cat hiding underneath a purple witches hat.  This pattern comes from the Sullivans Floss website, so it uses Sullivans floss, but if you would like a DMC/Sullivans conversion chart, there's one available on Cyberstitchers.

This free cross stitch pattern is available as a zipped file (PDF) from the Autumn Collection at Sullivans Project Central.

Happy stitching!
