Flower of the Month SAL

What is it?

This will be a year-long SAL (stitch-a-long) for 2015.   We are a group of stitchers interested in working on/finishing the flower of the month charts by EMS Designs throughout 2015, and cheering each other on during the year too.

Here's it works
  1. You can sign up at any time during 2015 by visiting here (the rules post) and using the form located at the bottom of this post.
  2. Once a month, work on one of the flower charts
  3. Post a progress report at the end of the month/beginning of the following month.  It can be about a new start, progress on an old start, or a finish.  It's your choice!
  4. Come back and post a link to your progress report on the monthly check-in post

It's that easy! This is a low-stress SAL, so if you miss a month, or don't want to do a certain chart, that's okay.  You can even modify what order you work on the charts on.

For me, personally, I plan on starting a new month every month, but you can choose how and at what level you want to participate.

If you have a blog, you can post your progress pics on there.  If you don't have a blog, you can join our Facebook group and post progress/discussions/encouragement over there.

What's a SAL without prizes?  There will a random drawing in January 2016 for stitching related prize(s) yet to be determined.  This is how you earn entries for the drawing:
  1. Signing up for the SAL on this page = 1 entry
  2. Joining the Facebook group = 1 entry
  3. Posting a monthly progress report and linking it back here = 1 entry per month you participate

As the SAL progresses, I will be linking to the website hosting each month's chart for anyone who hasn't downloaded them previously.
January - Carnations
February - Violets
March - Daffodils
April - Sweet Pea
May - Lily of the Valley
June - Wild Rose
July - Larkspur
August - Gladiolus

I look forward to stitching with all those of you who want to join me!

    1. Hey Teresa, are you having trouble with the signups?

  3. Thanks I was looking for new SAL, since I want to get back to stitching. (had missed the stitch from stash sign up).
Thanks for posting the pattern - I'm sure I have the floss, but will have to check.

  4. Thanks for this beautiful sal
Could you tell me how big the pattern will be in total stitches
I would like to make it as the example
So 12 together in one big project

    1. Hi Esmeralda,
Each square is 63 x 63 inches, so depending on how you want to put them together in one project and how many stitches separating them will determine the size. There's more information on that on the designer's website. Here's the link: http://www.maurer-stroh.com/EMS2010_information.html

    2. I allready sorted it out :)

  5. I would like to join but I don't have a url. So how does that work

  6. Hi Vanessa,

You can either join the Facebook group if you're on there, or if you want to just participate by email you can do that too. You would just email me your check-ins. Email me at brownieschair(AT)hotmail.com if you'd like to do that.

I've only just found out about your SAL and I've seen the links above for the first 3 months, will joining your FB group let me continue to collect the rest of your flower patterns in the future months.

Thank you for doing a beautiful flower collection and I'm looking forward to doing them.

The patterns are all already published, so you can download them all from the EMS designs if you want them all at once. Although I'm the organizer of this SAL, I didn't design the patterns. :)
